In the Season 3 finale, Louis and Jessica make big changes to provide a better life for their family. Yet these changes come with their own set of challenges and possibly a few regrets.

Part 1 of 2. Eddie graduates from middle school; Jessica sets her sights on a new private school for Evan and explores the idea of moving the family to a new upscale neighborhood; and Louis gets an opportunity to expand Cattleman’s Ranch with his new silent partner, singer Michael Bolton.
Jessica is thrilled to hear Evan is interested in joining the debate team. Yet, when her protégé becomes so good that he beats her at her own game, she second guesses her worth. Meanwhile, Eddie and Emery team up to enter a comic book contest.
Upon learning that Tiger Woods is half Thai, Louis and Jessica get inspired to groom Eddie and Evan into becoming the next great Asian golf prodigies. Jessica believes that a strict, rigorous training regimen is the recipe for success, while Louis thinks a more relaxed approach will yield stronger results. So, they put their differing parenting styles to the test and make a bet to see who can develop the better golfer. Meanwhile, Emery wants to publicize the fact that Tiger Woods is half Asian.

Louis worries that Grandma’s new motorized wheelchair gives her too much freedom, so he keeps a close eye on her; Jessica fears that Emery’s sentimental ways have turned him into a hoarder; and Eddie tries to hustle his way into Evan’s side business.
When Jessica tries to sleep off a bad flu, Louis and the boys splurge on a PPV wrestling match that she would never allow. As they watch, taking every precaution to ensure she’s not disturbed, they’re shocked to learn she’s having some fun of her own.
Louis’ plans for a guys’ weekend with Eddie leads to a disappointment when Eddie invites his buddies over for a sleepover instead; and Eddie has an adverse reaction to alcohol
Jessica’s ultra-competitiveness becomes an issue when the Huangs host a couples game night, forcing Louis to talk to her about her behavior. In other events, Emery and Evan help Eddie grieve the death of rapper Notorious B.I.G.
Jessica accuses Eddie of taking her papaya; and a record store manager accuses him of stealing a CD. In other events, a TV crew shoots an infomercial at Cattleman’s Ranch.
